This is a day of reflection on God’s love for us and why we are called to love and serve others. Moderators on Campus offer prayer and reflection, and the opportunity to travel to service sites for a 2-hour interval. Lunch and snacks are provided.

The Sophomore  Divisional prayer is based on the Magnificat. This retreat focuses on what it means for us to say yes to Jesus in our lives. There will be games, talks, and small group activities and time for personal reflection. The day will end with a Eucharistic celebration. Senior students will lead the small groups. Lunch and smacks are provided.

The Emmaus retreat is a 2-day retreat at beautiful Riverbend Retreat Center in Glen Rose.  We travel by bus to a retreat center and spend our time there reflecting on the Emmaus story and the presence of Christ on our life journeys and how we respond to Him.  There are some talks and activities that are moderator –lead.  Small groups are peer-led. This is a really wonderful retreat!

Kairos is a senior tradition at NCHS! Kairos, also known as ‘Time with God”, is an experience of Christian community, with a series of talks given by peers and adults. Prayer and the Sacraments are an essential part, as well as the participants’ involvement in discussions and various reflective exercises.  All Kairos retreats leave Monday after school and return Thursday afternoon at 6 p.m. Parents play a vital role in the success of the Kairos retreat for their students. Each retreat has a scheduled Parent Information Meeting in the Library. All Kairos Retreats go to Disciple’s Crossing Retreat Center in Athens, TX, except for the  March retreat which will be at Hoblitzelle Retreat Center in Midlothian.

Sign-ups for retreats are held at the beginning of each school year.  For more information or questions about NCHS Student Retreats, contact the Director of Christian Ministry.
