Nolan Catholic’s Theatre Arts Program Nolan offers students interested in theatre arts courses which introduce the student to theatre from basic stage techniques to elements of performance. Learned techniques include improvisation, pantomime, blocking, voice and diction, and characterization. In addition to these techniques, students will study theatre by engaging in scenes and script analysis. Four plays a semester will be assigned for outside study and discussion.
Nolan also offers a theatre production course in which students will have a chance to work with other actors and people interested in technical theatre to produce several theatrical productions. Students will focus on all aspects of theatrical production: acting concepts and skills, production concepts and skills, and aesthetic growth through appreciation of theatrical events. Students will share in the theatre experience by working in the various areas associated with overall production.
Theatre Nolan presents a series of plays, one-act plays, student-directed plays, and our Spring Musical production. Students school-wide are encouraged to audition for all performances.
