Nolan Catholic Class of 2008, Alex Mechalske is in her 3rd year with the women’s soccer staff this year in hopes to get that State Championship she was so close to getting.  Mechalske was a 2-time Nolan Catholic Female Athlete of the Year Award winner, a four-year varsity starter for the women’s soccer team and a four-time all-district golfer leading the team to the 2007 State Championships.  For the Lady Vikings Soccer Team she was a four-time, first-team all-state selection and was named TAPPS Defender of the Year in 2007.  Following her junior season, Mechalske was named to the Dallas Morning News All-Area Super Team.  She was also a four-time all-district selection and was named to the Fort Worth Star Telegram All-Area Super Team for four-straight years.  The Fort Worth native played club ball for the Dallas Sting Soccer Club before going on to play college soccer at TCU.  As a key contributor on the TCU backline, she started and played in 75 of 76 games while at TCU helping TCU post the best-ever goals against average (0.81) in school history. She was named Academic All-Mountain West Conference all four years and was known for her colorful cleats as she was named Fan Favorite her senior year.
